Ageing in Place

PAW 2019 has concluded, and we will be releasing details of the 2020 theme in the coming months.
It incorporated the International Day of Older Persons which falls annually on October 1st.

The theme for 2019 was ‘Ageing in Place’. This is ‘the ability to live in one's own home and community safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level’. Ageing in Place is not just for ‘older’ people, it’s for all people who want to ensure their quality of life and live it with dignity.

2019 saw over 300 events take place across the country. For 2020, Age Action is asking individuals and groups to organise and register an activity or event to celebrate the older people in our lives and the contribution they make to our families and our communities.

Positive Ageing Hub

A variety of themed events and talks took place throughout the week in the Age Action shop on Dublin's Camden Street
to celebrate ageing and the contribution of older people
